Owasso Band Patrons
Our mission is To provide unwavering support for the Owasso Bands program, which in turn leads to our hardworking band students achieving success.
If you have a student in the Owasso Public School band program, becoming a member of the Owasso Band Patrons (OBP) is essential. Open to all who wish to support the instrumental music program in Owasso schools, OBP membership isn't just a formality—it's a key way to make your child's band experience more enjoyable and affordable.
Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at the High School Band Room, except for August and September, when they take place at the Owasso PAC. At these meetings, you'll gain valuable insights into the band program, including updates on marching contests, volunteer opportunities like working in concession stands or chaperoning away football games, and ways to fund trip accounts for the upcoming year. The treasurer's report is also presented monthly, with additional reports available upon request.
Per OBP bylaws, membership is required for any funds earned from fundraisers or working concessions to be deposited into a student trip account. This makes OBP membership not just beneficial but necessary for maximizing the financial support your child receives.
As a band parent, your first priority should be attending as many events as possible where your child is performing. Our kids put in tremendous effort, and it's our responsibility to be there to recognize their hard work, provide support, and encourage them to succeed.
Another major priority is getting involved and volunteering your time to support our nationally recognized band program. While the Owasso Bands program is fortunate to have some of the nation’s best directors and supporting staff, running a world-class band program requires volunteer and financial support generated through various fundraising activities. Your involvement makes a significant difference in maintaining the high standards and success of the Owasso Bands.
